England Manager Thomas Tuchel is devising a new strategy to neutralise the threat posed by the Black Stars.
The Three Lions play the 2010 quarter-finalists in a second Group L game on Tuesday, June 23.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference on Monday, June 22, the former Chelsea boss observed that Ghana play quite differently, making it a multi-faceted side to read.
“One of the threats is the counter attack because Ghana plays with a lot of physicality,” he noted.
“They play with a lot of speed, individual quality. They don’t mind if they don’t have so much of the ball because they burst into high speed attack on the counter.”
The German manager insists he has to adapt to a style that will be required to counter this threat by the four-time African champions and ensure that he wins the game.
“It’s on us to adapt and to bring our strength and be respectful enough to adapt to the strengths of our opponents and make it a top performance from us because that’s what we need if we want to win.”
The two sides won their respective first games and a win will see either side make it to the Round of 32.
The match is scheduled for the Boston Stadium in Foxborough at 8:00pm.
