Ashanti Regional Chairman hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), has revealed that his decision to contest the party’s regional chairmanship is driven by his determination to help Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia win the presidency in 2028.
Speaking to party delegates during the fourth day of his campaign tour in the Ejisu Constituency on Thursday, July 29, 2026, COKA mentioned that the Ashanti Region must build a stronger party structure to secure victory in the next general election.
“My mission and vision are to ensure that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becomes President in 2029,” he told the delegates.
He said if elected Ashanti Regional Chairman, he would focus on strengthening the party at the grassroots, improving unity and mobilising members to deliver a decisive electoral victory for the NPP.
COKA appealed to delegates in the Ejisu Constituency to vote for him in the regional executive elections scheduled for August 15, 2026, reminding them that he occupies number one on the ballot paper.
The Ashanti Region is regarded as the electoral stronghold of the NPP and is expected to play a pivotal role in the party’s efforts to reclaim power in the 2028 general election, with the successful presidential candidate assuming office in January 2029.
