The newly elected Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, joined members of the Matan Nasara group to fry eggs upon his arriv al at the election centre, on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The former Afigya Sekyere South Constituency Chairman, contested with a former Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Authority, Dr Henry Kokofu.
The egg-frying activity happened at a tent mounted by some women’s groups of the party, who had set up the facility to provide food and refreshments for delegates throughout the voting process.
The gesture drew cheers from delegates and party supporters, creating a lively atmosphere at the centre as they awaited the start of voting.
The election produced a new regional leadership team to drive grassroots mobilisation and strengthen the party’s organisational structures as it seeks to recover from its defeat in the 2024 general elections.
