The Northern Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into the suspected killing of two females believed to be Benin nationals.
According to a police statement, the bodies were discovered on Monday, August 3, 2026 in a room at Cab Hospitality Hotel, located in the Gbewa Residential Area of Tamale.
Following a report from the hotel management, police proceeded to the scene where the bodies of the two females were found.
The bodies were subsequently conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation and a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police say preliminary investigations have commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths, identify the deceased persons, and liaise with the relevant authorities to facilitate contact with their families.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has deployed a special team of investigators, intelligence officers and a crime scene team from the National Police Headquarters to assist the Northern Regional Police Command with the investigations.
The Command urged any member of the public with credible information on the incident to call the Police Emergency Numbers, 191/18555 or report to the nearest Police Station.
