The Black Queens have progressed to the quarter-finals of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) following a 1-1 draw against Mali in their final Group D game.
The Queens scored first through Evelyn Badu’s header in the first half but watched on as their West African neighbours clawed back to level the game in the second half.
A deflected free kick beat goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan Fiindib in post to concede her second goal in the tournament.
But the 2024 Bronze medalists held on to secure the final ticket to the last 8.
Already-qualified Cameroon were also held to a 1-1 draw by debutants Cape Verde in the other group game.
The results still see the Indomitable Lionesses top Group D.
Ghana’s opponents in Sunday’s quarter-finals will be Malawi.
