The Ministry of Defence has a substantive minister following the reassignment of the Works and Housing Minister Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, to the Ministry.

This appointment means Dr Cassiel Ato Forson will have the time to focus on his works at the Finance Ministry.

It is recalled Dr Ato Forson was appointed to act as Acting Defence Minister, thus playing dual role, following the tragic death of Dr Edward Omane Boamah in the helicopter crash last year.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Ibrahim has been moved from the Local Government Ministry to Works, Housing and Water Resources.

The Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has also been nominated to the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

President Mahama also nominated Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings as Minister designate of Environment, Science and Technology.

This announcement was contained in a press release issued by the Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu on August 7.

This is the first ministerial reshuffle in President John Dramani Mahama’s second term in office.
