Parliament’s Appointments Committee will today, Thursday, August 27, 2026, vet Klottey-Korle Member of Parliament, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings and Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga.
Dr Agyeman-Rawlings has been nominated as Minister-designate for Environment, Science and Technology Innovation, while Mahama Ayariga is set to take care of the Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Ministry.
Their nominations form part of several ministerial appointments submitted by President John Dramani Mahama for parliamentary consideration and approval.
The vetting schedule was presented to Parliament on Monday, August 24, by Ayariga in his capacity as Majority Leader and Chairman of the Business Committee.
The exercise follows a request by the Business Committee for a waiver of the Standing Orders requirement concerning the publication of presidential nominations.
The waiver is intended to allow the Appointments Committee to proceed without being delayed by the usual publication requirement.
After the exercise, the Committee is expected to present its reports to the House for consideration and approval.
This follows an earlier postponement of the vetting which was initially scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
