The Eve International Foundation has officially expanded its operations to Maryland in the United States, as part of efforts to support families, communities and Ghanaian society.
Speaking to 3news at the Eve Women’s Forum USA, prominent Ghanaian breast surgeon and cancer advocate Dr. Beatrice Wiafe-Addai said the foundation’s work is focused on creating lasting impact for families and society.
The forum, held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at MGM National Harbor, Maryland, was held under the theme “Legacy and Longevity: Women Building Wealth and Health Across the Diaspora.”
The event featured discussions on building generational wealth, women’s wellness and longevity across the diaspora.
Dr. Wiafe-Addai also used the occasion to appeal to Ghanaians in the diaspora to support the establishment of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu Comprehensive Cancer Centre of Excellence at Kwaso in Kumasi.
She announced that a fundraising gala will be held on September 4 as part of efforts to raise funds for the project.
According to Dr. Wiafe-Addai, more than 5,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer annually in Ghana, with about 2,300 losing their lives.
She added that approximately 27,000 people are diagnosed with various forms of cancer every year, with about 17,000 deaths recorded annually.
Dr. Wiafe-Addai urged Ghanaians living abroad to contribute to the cancer centre, stressing the importance of collective support in addressing the country’s growing cancer burden.
The Eve Women’s Forum USA brought together women and stakeholders for conversations on wealth creation, health, legacy and building sustainable futures for families and communities.
