A fatal crash at Dr. Marbel Junction on the Accra-Kumasi Highway has left six people injured with two dead.
The crash happened on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The accident involved a DAF truck with registration number BF 1722E6, a VW Sprinter bus with registration number ER 195-24 and a tricycle with registration number M-25-AS-8071.
Firefighters from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station responded swiftly to the scene and rescued one victim trapped under the DAF truck.
The persons injured have since been transported to Suhum Government Hospital.
According to the GNFS, its preliminary findings indicate that, brake failure caused the DAF truck to lose control, crashing into the Sprinter bus, which subsequently collided with the parked tricycle.
The tricycle was completely destroyed, while the truck and bus sustained partial damage.
The GNFS has urged motorists to regularly service their vehicles and exercise caution to help prevent road crashes.
