Statesman and founding member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has said he does not know the current national executives of the party.
He has described them as his juniors who should be seeking him out. According to him, although some top figures in the party consult him privately, the current national executive has never approached him.
Responding to whether he has been consulted since the current leadership took over, he said some individuals have been engaging him on personal basis but not the executive.
“Quite top people in the party have been seeing me. They want my views on issues but the present national executive, I don’t even know them,” he said.
Speaking on the state of the NPP with JB, host of Onua TV’s morning show, Maakye, in his house on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe insisted that as a founding father, the onus is on the executives to know him and not the other way round.
“They should know me. They are my juniors so they should know me, I don’t know them,” he stressed.
When asked specifically if General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong had ever consulted him, he was emphatic.”I say I don’t know them. He has never been to me. If he has, he can call into the programme now. There is not a single one out there that I will say I know,” he stated.
Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said the only executives he can claim to know are the National Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim, and former National Organiser, Sammy Awuku, who is currently in Parliament.
“The only person I know is the Chairman who has disappeared. Ntim I know very well. Because we worked together before,” he explained. “The young people I know is Sammy Awuku. I remember at the time he was a very young child. And then who else, I think that’s all. Most of them I really don’t know,” he reiterated.
He, however, clarified what he means by knowing someone in the party. “When I say I know a person then it means I’ve met you in person and had a discussion before,” he noted.
