Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), Legon has won the 2026 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), securing a record-extending 9th title.
The Odadeɛ boys clinched the trophy on Wednesday, September 10, 2026, at the grand finale held at the UG Premier Domes in Accra, finishing with an impressive 40 point.
The contest saw a thrilling showdown between three top schools. Accra Academy*, who made a historic first-ever appearance in the grand finale, placed second with 33 points, while *St. Augustine’s College (AUGUSCO)* finished third with 27 points.
PRESEC Legon’s victory cements its dominance as the most successful school in the history of the competition. The school now stands alone as the first to win nine championships, having previously won in 1995, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2020, 2022, and 2023.
The final was organized by Primetime Limited and produced under the sponsorship of the Ghana Education Service, GOIL, Prudential Life Insurance, and other partners.
The win sparked wild jubilation among students, old boys, and supporters of PRESEC across the country, with many taking to social media to celebrate the historic feat.
