The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has arrested three people, including a woman, after drones were allegedly flown over its headquarters in Accra without authorisation.
The incident occurred on Thursday, October 1, amid heightened security at the facility, where Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah was being questioned.
It is not yet clear the reason they were flying the drones.
According to 3News sources, the drones remained over the EOCO premises for several minutes before officials moved to track them down and arrested the three individuals believed to be involved.
The circumstances surrounding the drone operation remain under investigation.
The arrests come less than 24 hours after EOCO obtained a court-issued arrest warrant for the Manhyia South MP.
The warrant followed an earlier attempt by EOCO to have Mr Baffour Awuah appear before the agency as part of investigations into alleged financial irregularities and financial loss to the state.
Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah on Thursday reported himself to EOCO accompanied by his lawyer, Atta Akyea, to assist with ongoing investigations over alleged financial irregularities.
His appearance at EOCO follows several invitations and an arrest warrant granted to the investigative body by the Accra High Court on Wednesday, September 30,2026.
Meanwhile, Baffour Awuah has left the premises of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in the company of investigators.
According to 3News sources, the investigators will accompany the MP to his residence and office to execute a search warrant as part of ongoing investigations into alleged financial irregularities and financial loss to the state.
