The Eastern Regional Women’s Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Shirley Naana Osei-Ampem, has said her eight years of working with delegates will speak for her ahead of the party’s regional elections.

She says issues of secrecy should not be taken for granted, hence the need to come down to delegates for them to understand her.

Speaking on Onua TV’s morning show, Maakye, on Monday, November 2, 2026, the incumbent Women’s Organiser who is seeking re-election, said the delegates know what she can do.

Her comments come as the NDC prepares for its Eastern Regional elections scheduled for November 14 and 15, 2026.

The Regional Elections Committee chaired by Baba Jamal Konney has said 49 aspirants successfully filed their nominations out of 52 who picked forms. Two aspirants filed for the Women’s Organiser position, while three filed for Deputy Women’s Organiser.

Vetting of aspirants was held on October 16 and 17 with the elections to be preceded by the Regional Youth and Women Conference on November 13.

The Eastern Region has become a key battleground for the NDC after the NPP retained most of its old executives in the region during its regional elections held on August 15, 2026, where Jeff Konadu Addo was re-elected as Regional Chairman with 405 votes.

However, Shirley Osei-Ampem says she has lived well with the delegates and all party faithful in the region for eight years, the reason she is confident her mandate would be renewed.

“Anything that concerns secrecy should not be taken for granted and that is why we need to come down to the delegates and speak to them to understand you,” she told host, JB, in Twi.

“For 8 years I’ve lived with them well and they know what I can do. So I know my good works will precede me ahead of the polls,” she stated.
