Former Member of Parliament for Sagnerigu, A.B.A Fuseini, has called on Ghanaians, particularly the Muslim community, to support the education and empowerment of the girl child, emphasizing their potential to reach the highest levels of society.

Fuseini’s remarks come in the wake of his daughter, Latifa Fuseini, being called to the Ghana Bar and recognized as the overall best student of the 2025 Ghana School of Law.

In an interview with TV3 on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the former MP expressed pride in his daughter’s accomplishment and used the moment to advocate for broader support for girls across the country.

“I congratulate my daughter Latifa for the honors she has brought not just to me and my family, but to the entire Muslim community,” he said.

“I see this as a door opening wider for our mothers and daughters, the sky is their limit. They have the competence to reach the highest levels in our society. I urge all parents to open doors and give every possible support to our girl children so they can attain their full potential.”

Fuseini also highlighted the demographic importance of women in Ghana, noting that they make up the majority of the population.

“Women outnumber men in Ghana. If we empower them, it stands to reason that our society will develop and progress more effectively,” he added.

His call forms part of ongoing efforts to promote girl child education and ensure that women are not left behind in national development.
