Schools will be in session on Thursday and Friday, October 26 and 27, 2023, in Accra despite the ongoing final funeral rites of the late Ga Manye, the Greater Accra Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has assured.
This follows the revised decision of the closure of shops, offices and schools during the funeral rites of the late Ga Manye Naa Dede Omaedru III, starting Thursday to Saturday.
Shops, offices and schools closure have been restricted to only Saturday following the revised decision on Tuesday.
The GES has said the earlier decision taken by the Ga Traditional Council is null and void according to a statement issued Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
