The chief of Adansi Praso in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti region, Nana Kwame Agyemang Pemsan has honoured a young man by giving him chieftaincy title.

Alex Donkor has been enstooled Gyaasehene for his constant protection of the community from armed robbery attacks.

A few months ago, all economic activities including funerals, came to a halt in the community after an armed group invaded the Adansi Praso community with machetes and other offensive weapons to rob traders.

They also threatened and attacked the chiefs and other innocent residents in the community.

It took the sacrificial effort of Alex Donkor, a 42-year-old man who is a native of the community, to organise boys to chase and arrest the perpetrators and handed them over to the police.

A contribution which has currently earned him the position of Gyaasehene, with the stool name, Nana Osei Okogyeaman.

The chief of Adansi Praso, Nana Kwame Agyemang Pemsan told Onua News Mr. Donkor deserved the honour for the rope he played in helping the community.

“We are giving him the Gyaase title because of what he has done. We know he is just one person but there are some single individuals who are more than a thousand,” he said.

Meanwhile, the new Gyaasehene, Nana Osei Okogyeaman promised to work harder to protect the community.

He used the medium to appeal to the government and other benevolent individuals to help build a police station for the community to mitigate the rampant criminal activities bedevilling the area.
