The Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku, has assured that the players will give their all to ensure that they return home with the ultimate prize.

He said the current crop of players have shown dedication and commitment, right through the qualifiers to be in Ivory Coast for the Cup of Nations.

Kurt Okraku made this known on Thursday, January 11, when Ghana’s Ambassador to La Cote d’Ivoire paid a courtesy call on the team in Abidjan.

The team left Ghana for neighbouring La Cote d’Ivoire on Wednesday and held their first training session in the evening.

Ambassador Frederick Daniel Laryea, in the company of some Ghana Embassy staff, visited the players and the technical team to officially welcome them to the country.

He assured them of the Embassy’s support and asked them to go by the adage ‘I cam, I saw and I conquered’.

The GFA President expressed gratitude to Ambassador Laryea for taking time off his busy schedule to visit the team.

He said the glory of winning the Cup after the last triumph in 1982 would be a reality.

“Indeed, this glory has been evasive for 40 plus years but we are very much committed towards the course.

“They will give off one million percent on the pitch and hopefully the almighty God will bless their big efforts in this enterprise.”

Ghana will begin their campaign on Sunday, January 14 against Cape Verde, before later taking on Egypt and Mozambique in Group B.
