The Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has filed 4 fresh charges against Aisha Huang, the ‘galamsey queen’.

These new charges are for the period 2015 to 2017 when she was first arrested and supposedly repatriated following a nolle prosequi filed by the state whilst the case was ongoing.

The Attorney General has also demanded Aisha Huang’s docket from the national security.

These fresh charges follow a public outcry of discontinuing the earlier charges levelled against her in 2017 and filing charges described by many as ‘weak’ in her rearrest.

The four new charges against Aisha Huang are; Undertaking a mining operation without a license; Facilitating the participation of persons engaged in illegal mining against the Minerals and Mining Act; Illegal employment of foreign nationals contrary to the Immigration Act and Entering Ghana while prohibited from re-entry also against the Immigration Act.
