Residents of Wawase, near Agona Swedru in the Agona West municipality of the Central region have been attacked by bees, leading to the death of one.

In all, there were ten victims of the attack. One of them, identified as Christopher Amponsah, a three-year-old, lost his life.

The remaining victims who sustained varying degrees of injuries have been taken to the hospital and are receiving care.

Personnel from Agona West National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly to bring the situation under control.
The Municipal NADMO Director, ACDCO Charles Agbavitor, together with members of DVG visited the scene to assess the situation and also called on the bereaved family to express their condolences and support.
