In a move to strengthen human capital development in the Ahanta West Constituency, the Member of Parliament, Mavis Kukua Bissue, has provided financial support to tertiary students through the AyindaMaale Educational Trust Fund.
The initiative, which was launched last year, is a fulfillment of a campaign promise made by the Member of Parliament during the 2024 general elections.
Tertiary education plays a vital role in shaping the future of society; however, the high cost of tuition, accommodation, learning materials, and research resources continues to make higher education expensive and inaccessible for many students.
Through the Trust Fund, one hundred and fifty students pursuing programmes in Law, Medicine, Engineering, and the study of the Ahanta language have received support.
Speaking at a brief award ceremony, Mavis Kukua Bissue emphasized the importance of producing skilled professionals to contribute to the development of the constituency’s human capital.
The Chairman of the AyindaMaale Educational Trust Fund and Paramount Chief of Upper Dixcove, Nana Hima Dekyi XIV, encouraged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity and strive for excellence to make Ahanta proud.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the support, noting that it will significantly cushion them as they pursue higher education.
