The Member of Parliament, for Ahanta West, Mavis Kuukua Bissue, has launched a mobile clinic aimed at improving access to quality healthcare across the municipality, particularly in hard-to-reach rural communities.
The initiative, which forms part of the MP’s campaign promise, is expected to complement existing health infrastructure and ease the burden of residents who often travel long distances to seek medical care.
Speaking at the lunch, Bissue highlighted the motivation behind the intervention, noting that many communities in Ahanta West still lack functional health facilities.

“Access to healthcare remains a major challenge in our municipality. Many of our people, especially those in remote areas, have to travel several kilometres to receive even the most basic medical attention,” she said.
“This mobile clinic will help bridge that gap by taking healthcare to their doorsteps and saving lives that might otherwise be lost due to delays or lack of access.”
She added that the mobile clinic is fully equipped to deliver essential services including maternal and child health care, disease screening, health education, and emergency response.
She expressed optimism that the facility would significantly improve healthcare outcomes in the municipality.
“This initiative is not just about convenience; it’s about equity and fairness in healthcare delivery. Every citizen, regardless of where they live, deserves quality medical care,” She stressed.
The Ahanta West Municipal Health Director, Mr. Emmanuel Badian, lauded the MP for the gesture, describing it as it aligns with the Ghana Health Service’s goal of achieving universal health coverage.
“This mobile clinic complements our broader health strategy and will help extend critical services to underserved areas,” he noted.
Also present at the ceremony was Nana Eziaku, a traditional leader in the municipality, who commended the MP for her foresight and dedication to the welfare of her constituents.
“This initiative demonstrates true leadership and care for the people,” Nana Eziaku said. “I urge the health workers and community members to ensure the vehicle is well-maintained and used judiciously.
