Captain Smart has described President Akufo-Addo and his relatives in his government as “Akyem Mafia” whose intent is to denigrate the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
He has alleged that there is a calculated attempt by the Mafias to stifle Kumasi and the entire Asanteman’s development thereby adopting lackadaisical attitude towards each project they started or met in order not to complete them.
Citing the stalled Krofrom market, Suame Interchange, poor roads, the KNUST Teaching Hospital among others, Captain Smart alleged the intent of government is to incite the Overlord of the kingdom against his subjects to call him names for sitting aloof to make things escalate from bad to worse.
The Maakye host on Onua TV/FM also added on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 that, just as former president Rawlings was a friend to President Akufo-Addo and collapsed Apino company, this NPP administration wants to do same by bringing businessmen in Kumasi down.
A clandestine agenda by the Mafias which Captain Smart says does not refer to all Akyem indigenes but rather President Akufo-Addo and his family, has been nursed to subdue the commercial prowess of Asante businessmen, the reason government is also piloting the new tax collection system there amid the unfulfilled promises for the people.
