Captain Smart has said the posture and demeanour of President Akufo-Addo during his visit to Kumasi was that of a disappointment.
Captain Smart says the president was disappointed in his own self. His appearance, according to the Maakye host on Onua TV/FM is because of his selective justice approach towards the fight against galamsey.
He says even though Chairman Wontumi is currently the galamsey kingpin in Ghana, President Akufo-Addo couldn’t query him but rather wants to use the Bosome Freho DCE as a scapegoat.
The president met with the National House of Chiefs and the Metropolitan Municipal and District Chief Executives over galamsey where the president said he is not going to shield any of his appointees who would be found engaging in galamsey.
“Why summon the Bosome-Freho DCE without summoning Chairman Wontumi? Is it because Wontumi gave you money for the 2020 elections and still sends money to the Jubilee House?
“Wontumi has destroyed 3 forests in A/R and Nana Addo is aware. Sir John warned Wontumi before dying but he still won his election as Chairman of the party. Wontumi says Nana Addo is in his pocket that’s why he is still doing galamsey and they can’t stop him.
“Nana Addo can never fight galamsey because his family members, friends and party gurus are involved in galamsey.
“Nana Addo was disappointed in his own self. The first time in his public appearance he looked worried. If you’re a leader and you engaged in selective justice, that’s what happens,” alleged.
Meanwhile, Captain Smart says the president’s show on galamsey is a ploy to divert discussions on the economic hardship confronting the citizens.
“The galamsey brouhaha is an agenda to stop people to talk about the hardship in the system. Galamsey is dangerous than COVID because it kills about 54 people in Ghana daily.
“Those doing galamsey are very close to Nana Addo and he wants to use one of those who isn’t close as a scapegoat and that is the Bosome-Freho DCE,” he alleged.
