President Nana Addo Dankwa  has nominated three new justices of the  pending approval by .

The nominees are; Henry Anthony Kwofie, Yaw Asare Darko, and Adjei Frimpong, all Court of Appeal .

First Deputy  of Parliament, Joseph Osei-Owusu referred the nominees to the  of the House for consideration and report.

 

Mr Osei-Owusu told the House that their nomination followed the retirement of Justices Kwasi Anin Yeboah, Nene Amegatcher and Jones Dotse early this year.

 

A letter  wrote to Parliament on the nomination said “…I consulted with the  by submitting the names and CVs of the nominees for appointment to the court. The Council of State has by a letter dated 11 August 2023,  notified me of the successful completion of the consultation process.

“Therefore, in accordance with article 144(2) of the Constitution, seeking the approval of Parliament for the appointment of the nominees as justices of the Supreme Court.”
