Member of Parliament for Yendi and Chairman of the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corperation(GIISDEC) Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has described the achievements of the Akuffo-Addo led administration in the Yendi constituency as unmatched.
Speaking at a sod cutting ceremony for the dualisation of a 2.5 kilometre Yendi township roads, the Yendi lawmaker said the massive infrastructural development of the town is a testament of the good works of the president.
“For the past years after the Kufuor-Aliu Mahama administration, Yendi did not see any development until the visionary, result oriented and action Akufo-Addo took office”
“The 10 kilometre asphalting of the Yendi township roads, the new Yendi Sports Stadium, this dualization project, the Yendi-Tamale road project, the peace in Dagbon among others are testaments of the workaholic president,” he extolled.
He called on the people of Yendi to support the NPP led government to deliver on its promise to break the 8.
“Mr President, let me assure you that you that the people of Yendi will add over 30,000 votes to the 2020 figure for the NPP to break the 8 and this is to say thank you to you and the NPP for the development,“ he promised.
For his part, President Akufo-Addo reiterated his commitment towards the development of Dagbon and a new Yendi city.
He assured the people that the Yendi water problem and other key challenges will be a thing of the past under his watch.
President Akufo-Addo is on a three day working visit to the Northern Region.
As part of his tour of the region, he is expected to inspect some ongoing projects in Yendi, Bimbilla, Saboba, Kpandai, Mion and Tamale.
