The Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency and Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has described the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, as a significant contributor to his success in the 2020 and 2024 parliamentary election.

Speaking during the Chairman’s ‘Thank You Tour’ of the Constituency on May 15, Mr. Jinapor commended Mr. Asiedu Nketia for his leadership, guidance and support throughout the electioneering period, which he said contributed significantly to his victory.

“I would like to appreciate our national chairman immensely. You all recall that in 2020 he was here to support me. In 2024 he did same. What else can one ask for,” he said.

According to Dr Jinapor, “Yapei-Kusawgu is the biggest constituency in the Savannah Region, it has the highest number of voters in the Savannah Region. So, if any party wins this constituency, you have no fears when it comes to the presidential elections.”

So please exercise patience for the party,” he stated.

Dr. Jinapor cautioned supporters against actions that could create divisions within the party or weaken its chances of retaining power. “If we are sharing while in office it is just a matter of time, everybody will get some but when we use violence and it lands the party in opposition, it will be our loss,” he added.

The Energy Minister also assured residents that preparations are underway to provide pipe-borne water and improve roads in the area as part of the government’s ongoing development efforts.

Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah assured residents of the Savannah Region that the area remains a priority for development under President John Dramani Mahama’s government.
