Pupils of Seseko D/A Basic School in the Atwima Mponua Municipality of the Ashanti Region are battling with snakes for space in their classrooms.

The school, which is in a deplorable state has old muddy walls with some wretched roofing sheets closer to the bush leaves the innocent children with no choice than to share the space with snakes.

When Onua TV’s Akua Sarpomaa visited the place, she was welcomed by one of the snakes that have been scrambling for space with the pupils.

Meanwhile, teachers of the school complain they trek for at least an hour through a bushy path before getting to class daily.

Due to the remotest nature of the community, the teachers say they have to walk from nearby towns like Tafo , Atwima Agogo, Suame, Maakro, Nkawie, Mpasatia and Aniya before getting to school daily.

They are therefore pleading with the government and other benevolent individuals to come to their aid to salvage the situation for them.

When it rains, the situation becomes worse according to the teachers, and have therefore pleaded with government to supply them motorbikes since vehicles cannot ply the route.

Akua Sarpomaa presents in detail, the concerns raised by the teachers and other stakeholders on Maakye with Captain Smart on Thursday, June 23, 2022.
