A business mogul and football administrator, Dr. Kofi Amoah, has expressed the need for the Vice President to do a “lifestyle audit for check and balance” of himself to Ghanaians.

Dr. Amoah says the Vice President’s acts of benevolence do not commensurate the salary he takes as a public officer.

In order to fight corruption in the country, the former Chairman of the Normalisation Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) says it would “be a good gesture of assurance if you (Bawumia) were to expound on where all these monies you dash out come from.”

His comments come on the back of the Vice President’s commissioning of an ultramodern sports complex at Nalerigu he “personally built” for the youth in the community.

According to Dr. Amoah, Dr. Bawumia’s benevolence are not commensurable with his salary, the reason he needs to let Ghanaians know how he funds such acts.

He notes through a post on X that it would be good for the Vice President to fill Ghanaians in on the sources of his numerous giveaways.

Requesting for the source of funding for the sports complex, Dr. Kofi Amoah noted “I have no reason to doubt your altruism nor do I have any solid proof that you financed the project from ill-gotten wealth.

“However, your official salary is known but we also hear about numerous funds give-aways from you that sometimes seem to not add up properly to have been able to come from your official salary alone.

“And by the Constitution, Sir, as you are aware, you’re are not allowed to engage in profit making activities whilst serving as the Vice President,” he posted.

He added that “it would therefore be a good gesture of assurance if you were to expound on where all these monies you dash out come from if in fact your salary cannot cover them… ie a normal lifestyle audit for check and balance.”
