Pollster, Benjamin Emmanuel Ephson, has predicted that per his research and consortium from the camp of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will select the Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, as his running mate.

Ben Ephson explains that the choice is hinged on Dr. Prempeh’s probability of securing more votes for the party from the Ashanti region which has been the NPP’s stronghold since the commencement of the Fourth Republic.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s choice as running mate, according to Ben Ephson, will not only be strategic to the party but also beneficial in the upcoming polls.

“From the research and my interactions with some members of the NPP and what Dr. Bawumia’s team is said to have done, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh will give Dr. Bawumia maximum votes amongst the possible running mates from the Ashanti region. So I bet Dr. Bawumia will choose him (Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh) as his running mate,” he said on Accra-based JoyNews Monday, March 04, 2024.

Ben Ephson, who is also the Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch newspaper is convinced a Bawumia-Opoku Prempeh ticket presents a stronger combination compared to the John Mahama-Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang ticket.
