Founder and leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has said the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has no message for Ghanaians ahead of the December elections.

The former flag bearer for the People’s National Convention (PNC) says the only message the Vice President has been giving Ghanaians is “It is Possible” and nothing else.

Speaking with Captain Smart on Onua TV’s morning show, Maakye, Monday, July 04, 2024, Mr. Ayariga indicated that beyond the phrase, the Vice President has no meaning to give Ghanaians on what he intends to do for Ghanaians.

He contends the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are the reason Ghana has not developed since independence.

He avers both parties have had the opportunity to lead the nation after independence, but have not done anything meaningfully to better the lives of the citizens.

“Bawumia is empty. All he knows is to get a microphone and say ‘It Is Possible’,” he noted.

The APC leader says he doesn’t understand why the Vice President, despite all the powers he wield, would still consider himself a dormant in the current administration to demand another mandate to perform.

The NPP’s flag bearer has urged Ghanaians to give him the mandate to serve them as President, when they go to the polls on December 07, 2024, saying he was only a driver’s mate as Vice President.

Bawumia indicated that the buck will stop at him only when he becomes President asking that he should not be blamed for the failures of the current administration.

During the commencement of his address to outline his vision for Ghana, should he become President, at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Wednesday, February 07, 2024, Dr. Bawumia said “as Vice President, I am a driver’s mate, but if you vote for me, I’ll take the driver’s seat.”

Meanwhile, a section of the public thinks the comments were inappropriate, asserting that the Vice President cannot take credit for the successes, if any, of the administration, and absolve himself of the failures.
