The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has called on healthcare providers under the scheme to maintain high professional standards to ensure the smooth operation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Isaac Badu Amponsah, the Bono Regional Director of NHIA, issued the caution during the groundbreaking ceremony for a new ultra-modern NHIA office in Berekum. He urged service providers to avoid unethical practices that could undermine the scheme’s effectiveness.

“The groundbreaking of this ultra-modern office marks a new chapter for healthcare delivery in the Berekum municipality,” Amponsah stated. “Service providers must adhere to ethical standards to sustain the NHIS for the benefit of all Ghanaians.”

Hajia Fati Abubakari, the Berekum Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), highlighted that the new office will significantly enhance access to NHIS services for residents.

“This facility will eliminate the need for long-distance travel, bringing much-needed relief to the people of Berekum once completed,” she said.

Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, Member of Parliament for Berekum East, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises.

“The ruling NDC government remains dedicated to delivering infrastructural developments like this new NHIA office to improve healthcare access,” he emphasized.

The new NHIA office is expected to streamline operations and enhance service delivery in the region, reinforcing the government’s efforts to make healthcare more accessible under the NHIS.
