Ghana’s Black Princesses were on Friday held to a one-all draw by their Ugandan counterparts in the ongoing African Games.

It was the final Group A match with the Ghanaians already qualified to the semi-finals ahead of the game.

But the East Africans needed at least a draw to make it to the next stage, having drawn 1-1 with Tanzania in their first game and beating Ethiopia 2-0 in their second game.

They showed that determination to get at least a point at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium against the hosts, scoring in the 11th minute through Captain Catherine Nagadya.

But striker Mukarama Abdulai restored parity for the West Africans with a perfect drive into the opponents’ goal.

Missed chances characterised the rest of the game until the end, sending both sides through to the medal zone.

The semis are scheduled for Monday, March 18.
