The Black Stars began a nine-day camping for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday, January 2 at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex at Abrankese in the Ashanti Region.

After the team touched down in the Region on Monday night, the technical handlers are reported to have chosen the Sports Complex instead of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The latter, according to reports, was rejected by Head Coach Chris Hughton due to its poor state.

About 24 players took part in the first training session on Tuesday.

All three called-up goalkeepers – Richard Ofori, Jojo Wollacott and Lawrence Ati-Zigi – are in camp.

Almost all the defenders are in camp as well.

Mohammed Kudus is among the midfielders yet to report.

Jordan Ayew and Inaki Williams are among the strikers yet to report.

Ghana will play in Group B at the tournament, which starts on Saturday, January 13 in La Côte d’Ivoire.
