The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has dissolved the Management Committee of the Black Stars following the team’s inability to make it to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Ghana failed to make it to the next edition of the tournament in a disastrous fashion, placing bottom in a group, Group F, that had Sudan, Niger and Angola.

The four-time African champions failed to win a single game in the qualifiers.

The ExCo met on Wednesday to decide on the way forward.

One of the decisions taken is to dissolve the Management Committee of the team.

“In doing so, we sincerely thank the members of the Committee for their service to Ghana Football over the years,” a press statement after the meeting stated.

A meeting is also scheduled to be held with the Head Coach, Otto Addo, “to discuss his Technical report on the just ended AFCON qualifiers and the overall performance of the Technical team since assuming duty earlier this year”.

The Council also apologised to Ghanaians in general for the failure of the senior national men’s soccer team to make Morocco 2025.

“We understand the disappointment and frustration this failure has caused, and we share in the pain and sadness of our beloved fans.

“We acknowledge that the team’s performance did not meet the high expectations of the nation, and for that, we are truly sorry.”
