A middle-aged security officer has gone missing after a canoe he was ferrying on capsised on the Pra river.
The canoe was carrying 16 passengers on the Twifo Praso side of the river in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa district of the Central region.
Meanwhile, 15 passengers managed to survive the incident with the help of people in the area.
The cause of the incident is believed to be overloading because the canoe was carrying excessive number of passengers and goods.
One of the survivors speaking who spoke with Onua News revealed that the canoe hit a log in the river causing it to capsize.
As part of efforts to search for the missing victim, the traditional leaders in the area have performed rituals to pave way for people to go into the river.
