After a period of service marked by commitment, ambition, and the desire to build a stronger future for Ghanaian football, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Head Coach of the Black Stars have mutually agreed to terminate their Service Agreement.

The decision, reached following discussions held in a spirit of mutual respect, brings an end to a chapter that began with hopes of guiding Ghana’s senior national team toward a brighter future, particularly in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. While the separation was not an easy one, both parties agreed that ending the professional relationship was the appropriate course of action under the circumstances.

In his farewell message, the departing coach expressed his gratitude to the GFA, especially its President, for the confidence and opportunity to lead one of Africa’s most respected football nations. He also acknowledged the efforts of his technical staff and everyone who contributed to the team’s preparations.

Central to his message was a heartfelt tribute to the players of the Black Stars. He praised them for representing Ghana with courage, commitment, and pride, while urging Ghanaians to continue believing in and supporting them.

“Believe in these players. Protect them. Support them,” was the powerful appeal at the heart of his farewell.

The coach maintained that the talent and potential within the current generation remain significant. In his view, with unity, proper support, and the right environment, the players can still achieve great things for Ghanaian football.

His departure therefore goes beyond the end of a coaching appointment. It marks a moment for reflection on the direction of the Black Stars and the conditions necessary to help the team reach its full potential.

For the departing coach, the journey may have ended sooner than hoped, but he leaves Ghana with gratitude, respect, and pride. He thanked the Ghanaian people and Black Stars supporters for their passion, warmth, and unwavering support.

As a new chapter begins for the Black Stars, attention will now turn to the future and to creating the stability, unity, and support needed to help Ghana’s talented players succeed on the international stage.

The farewell was ultimately one of appreciation rather than bitterness—a recognition of the honor of serving Ghana and a reminder that, despite challenges, the future of the Black Stars remains closely tied to the talent, determination, and dreams of its players and supporters.
