Chelsea face fresh Enzo Fernandez problem

Chelsea are enduring one of their worst seasons in the Premier League under Graham Potter after he replaced Thomas Tuchel as manager in September last year.

Despite spending over £600million on new signings, the Blues sit 10th in the table and need to overturn a first leg 1-0 deficit against Borussia Dortmund to keep their Champions League campaign alive.

football.london understands the Frenchman is likely to return to training in March which will come as a welcome boost for Potter.

Enzo Fernandez was signed in the January transfer window after completing a £106million move from Benfica, breaking the British transfer record.

The Argentine midfielder won the World Cup with his country in December and was seen as a priority target to come in and help fix the problems at Stamford Bridge. No player in Europe’s top five leagues has been dribbled past more times per game (3) than the 22-year-old since his move to Chelsea.

Zinedine Zidane verdict given by former Chelsea icon as Graham Potter pressure builds

Former Chelsea icon Emmanuel Petit believes Zinedine Zidane is not the answer for the Blues if Todd Boehly was to sack Graham Potter.

Speaking to Premier League Odds, Petit said: “Zinedine Zidane doesn’t speak English so he’s not the proper choice for Chelsea to replace Potter, with all due respect to my former teammate.

“Potter has been there since September, are you really going to fire him? They should stick with him as they still have the chance to win the Champions League.

“If you sack Potter, someone who comes to the club straight away will have to adapt and do the right things and fans must understand it will take weeks and weeks. I won’t judge Potter now for the bad results.”
