The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has called off its strike action following an appeal from government to allow two weeks for the resolution of their concerns.

At a press briefing on Tuesday, Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe, announced that the Association’s National Executive Committee (NEC) had agreed to halt the industrial action and give the government a two-week window to address their concerns, particularly regarding salary structure and conditions of service.

“The National Executive Committee of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), on 17th March 2026, reviewed the appeal by government to call off the nationwide strike action and allow government fourteen days to come to an amicable resolution of the issues with the salary structure and conditions of service of members of CLOGSAG,” he stated.

Mr. Bampoe further directed all members to return to work by Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

“Execo, therefore, has suspended the nationwide strike. All members of CLOGSAG are to report to work by Tuesday, 24th March 2026,” he said.

Despite suspending the strike, CLOGSAG leadership has made it clear that it will not engage with the National Labour Commission (NLC), citing ongoing legal proceedings against the Commission.

“We will not attend the meeting, but rather we have taken the Labour Commission to court, and very soon you will hear from us,” Mr. Bampoe added.

The strike, which disrupted services across several public sector institutions, was initiated over longstanding concerns about pay and working conditions. The temporary suspension is expected to restore operations while negotiations continue.
