The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), has obtained a court injunction against the National Labour Commission.
According to CLOGSAG, the injunction is aimed at preventing the Commission from interfering in its ongoing strike action.
“The Civil and Local Government Stall Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has filed an injunction on the National Labour Commission restraining them from interfering with the on-going industrial action by the staff of the Births arid Deaths Registry,” a letter dated June 20 sighted by 3news reads in part.
CLOGSAG declared the strike in protest over what it describes as persistent verbal abuse directed at its members working at the Births and Deaths Registry. The Registrar of the department, Samuel Adom Botchwey, has been named as the source of the alleged misconduct.
The Association says the strike will continue until the concerns of its members are fully addressed and appropriate disciplinary measures are taken.
“The staff of Births and Deaths Registry should stay at home until safe and congenial working environment are guaranteed as indicated in our letter No. BAJ-I6/SF. I dated 12′ June, 2025. CLOGSAG would continue to strive for conducive atmosphere to provide at the Births and Deaths Registry.
Be bold and fight for your right to work under safe and humane conditions,” CLOGSAG President, Isaac Bampoe-Addo wrote.
Neither the National Labour Commission nor the Registrar has publicly responded to the latest developments.
