Majority of Ghanaians are backing the Constitutional Review Committee’s (CRC) proposal of extending the presidential term limit to five years, a survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics, has revealed.
The proposal for the presidential limit extension was contained in the report released by the Committee on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
This, the Global InfoAnalytics survey says is backed by majority of Ghanaians. It says 57% of voters surveyed said they support the idea, while 36% stood opposed. Meanwhile, 7% said they are undecided.
Also, the survey said many Ghanaians strongly wants parliamentarians not to be appointed as ministers. Per the findings, while, 58% of respondents want Members of Parliament banned from serving as Ministers, 32% of them opposed to the idea, with 10% saying they are indifferent.
Meanwhile, the proposal for the reduction of the minimum age to contest for presidency in the country from 40 to 30 years was hugely approved by the respondents.
The poll found that 55% of voters are in favour of lowering the age limit, while 35% are against it. Another 10% expressed no opinion.
The survey was carried between December 1 and December 21, 2025, using a combination of online questionnaires, telephone interviews, as well as in-person interviews, sampling 13,495 registered voters from across the country.
