Combative Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku has picked yet another injury at club.
Djiku picked a muscle injury in Fenerbahce’s 5-0 thrashing of Erzurumspor in the Turkish Cup Wednesday night.
The Ghanaian was substituted in the 55th minute.
His injury was confirmed by manager Jose Mourinho after the game.
“Djiku has a muscle injury. Diego Carlos and Yusuf have a problem with their knees. Letβs wait. We will have an MRI tomorrow and see what happens. This is the situation we are in, but we also have Skriniar and Akcicek in this position,β the Portuguese said.
The player posted on his official X page on Thursday, hoping to get back soon.

Djiku withdrew from Otto Addo’s squad in the last competitive games against Angola and Niger due to a Grade One strain in the front part of his right thigh (Quadriceps), an injury picked in a Turkish Super Lig game.
The Black Stars coach recently visited him at his base, rekindling hopes of a return to the national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.
