The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, Ken Ashigbey has urged President Mahama to use the death of the eight Ghanaians who were on a national assignment in relation to illegal mining, as an opportunity to end the menace.
According to him, the responsibility to end galamsey, rests solely on President Mahama.
“Enough is enough. We need to ensure that this is the point of inflection…many party people are involved in galamsey. This must stop.”
“We should make sure this sacrifice that this people have made does not go in vain. His Excellency, the responsibility rests on you. Don’t let this be in vain,” he said on TV3’s KeyPoints on August 9.
