Defending champions Dreams FC have just been eliminated from the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup after losing 1-2 in extra time to Bofoakwa Tano FC.
The Bono Region side will, therefore, face regional rivals Nsoatreman FC in the final.
It was a semi-final game to savour at the WAFA Park in Sogakope in the Volta Region on Sunday when the two sides locked horns.
With a final against Nsoatreman FC and a qualification to the CAF Confederation Cup in sight, both Ghana Premier League sides were determined to secure that ticket.
The odds, however, favoured Dreams FC, who were outstanding on the continent in their maiden campaign.
Despite Bofoakwa Tano’s better positioning in the League, Dreams FC have about four outstanding games to bridge that one-point difference.
It was the Tanoso-based side that drew first blood of the game after Aboagye Dacosta hit an 18-yard shot into the Dreams FC goal.
Parity was, however, restored a few moments later after Abdul Jalilu equalized for the Still Believe boys.
The game, then, went into extra time, a couple of minutes into which Elijah Addai restored Bofoakwa’s lead.
That was how it stayed for Bofoakwa Tano FC to set up an all-Bono Region final.
