Ghana’s Dreams FC have exited the CAF Confederation Cup after losing 0-3 at home to Egyptian giants Zamalek on Sunday.

It was the second leg of the semi-finals of the second-tier club competition.

The first leg had ended goalless with expectations high that the Ghanaian side will upend the five-time African champions.

Dreams FC hold Zamalek to goalless draw at the Cairo Int’l Stadium in CAF Confed Cup

But it was not to be as the visitors scored three unanswered goals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to make it to the finals.

Defender Hamza Mathlouthi opened the score in the 12th minute, silencing the partisan spectators at the stadium.

Beninois Samson Akinyoola made it two after 27 minutes of play, making the encounter tough for the Ghanaians.

The final nail to the coffin was hit by Mostapha Shalaby before the hour mark.

That goal, then, required Dreams FC to score four goals in order to make the final.

Unfortunately, it was not to be as the dreams of the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup champions were shattered.
