In a bid to enhance the operational capabilities of the Ghana Police Service, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has risen to the occasion with 1,000 motorbikes.

The ECG delivered 200 customized motorbikes to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) at a short ceremony held in Accra.

Mobility is undeniably crucial for the effectiveness and efficiency of any police organization, and the Ghana Police Service is no exception.

Despite commendable efforts by governments over the last decade to equip and retool the police, the Service emphasizes the need for more means of mobility to enhance service delivery.

Modern policing trends, coupled with the sophistication in crimes, have added immense pressure on the Ghana Police Service.

Staying ahead of criminals in various forms requires constant adaptation and innovation.

Responding to public appeals and acknowledging recent collaborations with the Service, ECG has decided to contribute to the fleet of police motorbikes.

The remaining 800 motorbikes are set to be delivered in batches next year, ensuring a significant enhancement in the Ghana Police Service’s operational capacity.

This timely support from the Electricity Company of Ghana is a stride towards fortifying the law enforcement as the country prepares for the 2024 general elections.
