Two Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC players, who were in contention for honours at the 2023 CAF Awards held in Marrakech, Morocco, missed out at the event held on Monday, December 11.

Defender Comfort Yeboah was in contention for the Women’s Young Player of the Year while Jennifer Owusuaa’s goal in the CAF Women’s Champions League was one of the 12 goals considered for the Goal of the Year.

However, Moroccan Nesryne El Chad won the award at the expense of Comfort Yeboah while Mahmoud Kahraba’s goal for Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League was voted as the Goal of the Year.

There were other awards conferred on outstanding individual players and teams.

Morocco’s Atlas Lions were voted as the Men’s Team of the Year.

Their goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou, was awarded Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year while Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie was named Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year.
