The Effutu Municipal Assembly has appealed to residents and all stakeholders to remain calm following an incident that has raised concerns within the municipality.
The Assembly said the situation is being addressed through the appropriate channels and urged the public to avoid acts or statements that could escalate tensions. It also called on residents to rely on verified information to prevent misinformation and for residents to cooperate with the relevant authorities as efforts continue to resolve the matter.
The appeal was issued on September 2 by the Effutu Municipal Assembly in response to the incident, which occurred within the municipality. Three persons died while six severely injured.
The Assembly’s intervention is aimed at maintaining peace, protecting public safety and preventing the spread of misinformation.
Residents have consequently been encouraged to remain resolute, law-abiding and to report any developments to the appropriate authorities. The Assembly assured the public that it would continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates when necessary.
The call for calm and peace comes as authorities work to establish the facts surrounding the incident and ensure that peace is maintained across Effutu Municipality.
“We are Effutu and Gomoa people, above all, Ghanaians. Our shared humanity and common future must guide our actions at this difficult time”, the press release said.
