Alan Kyerematen’s special policy advisor, Nana Ohene Ntow thinks Ghana is at a stage where it needs radical change and transformation.
He says the country’s development at this stage, should not be dependent on political parties but rather on leadership that has the interest of the people at heart.
Ohene Ntow was speaking at the launch of TV3 and 3FM’s official launch of Election Command Centre at the Media General premises at Adesa We, Kanda, Thursday, August 29, 2024.
“We are at a very critical junction as a nation and that our development is not just about political parties. It’s about leadership that will bring great transformation to our nation. We pray that other media outlets will also embrace the narrative because it is for the good of the nation. Because truly speaking, our nation needs radical change and transformation,” he stated.
He also called on the EC to give recognition to the independent candidates since they have become a major stakeholder in the elections.
“We also want to appeal to the Electoral Commission that now that the independent is here to stay, the Electoral Commission should not wait and say that we have to register as an independent, submit our nomination before the EC can deal with an independent prospective.
“It is a phenomenon that is recognised and we want to use this platform to appeal to the EC, we also want a copy of the provisional register because you expect us to bring you the nomination forms, fill according to all the rules.
“After all, IPAC for example, is not a statutory body it is by the EC’s own discretion adn I’m sure the EC can use the same discretion to recognise those individuals who have put themselves up to serve this nation at that level,” he pointed out.
