Former Black Stars defender Stephen Baidoo is not convinced Otto Addo is solely the problem of the senior national men’s soccer team.

According to him, the problem with the team goes beyond Otto Addo because there is no technical direction for the team.

Speaking on Agoro Fie on Onua TV on Tuesday, the former Ankarakugücü defender said there is no consistency in player selection while Otto Addo was inundated with too many technical backroom staff, whose ideas and suggestions may have been confusing to him.

“I won’t blame Otto Addo,” he said. “The structures are not there.”

He raised concerns about the timing of Otto Addo’s sacking, stressing that even if the best in the world were brought in, there will be little he can do due to the structural defects.

“Even if we bring [Jose] Mourinho and [Carlo] Ancelotti to put this team together, it will be difficult.”

Otto Addo was dismissed after the Black Stars 1-2 loss to Germany on Monday.

That came three days after an embarrassing 5-1 loss to Austria.

The team has two more preparatory games before their opening Group L game against Panama.
