The Executive Director of EMY Africa, Daniel Kojo Sonoh, has extolled the leadership prowess of the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Beatrice Agyemang, for the impact she is making in her chosen field.
This comes after the respected GCEO was conferred the ‘Woman of the Year’ honours at the 8th edition of the EMY Africa Awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre Saturday, October 14, 2023.
The Woman of the Year Award, according to Mr. Kojo Soboh, recognises an impactful woman of excellence and innovation who has inspired many, broken new grounds or old barriers, and contributed to her community and nation.
According to him, EMY Africa Awards selected Madam Beatrice Agyemang for the award having recognised her inspirational rise through the ranks from her journey as a reporter, to her current position as Group CEO of one of the largest and leading Media Organisations in Ghana, which is worth celebrating.
“You are a well-respected woman in media who has developed and is building your organisation into one of the most successful media organisations in Ghana today,” Mr. Kojo Soboh stated.
He added that Madam Agyemang’s journey in the media industry has been marked by “exemplary leadership, strategic vision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Under her guidance, Media General has flourished and expanded its footprint in the media and entertainment space, reaching new heights in terms of content creation, broadcasting, and digital media.
“Throughout her tenure as Group CEO, Madam Agyemang has overseen the successful execution of numerous initiatives that have solidified Media General’s position as a leading media conglomerate. Her dedication to quality programming, innovation, and community engagement has set a standard for the entire industry,” the award organisers indicated.
For her part, the GCEO, Beatrice Agyemang, expressed her resolve to persistently break the barriers in the media industry to impact society positively.
Leading the media conglomerate which is making global strides from her superintendence, Madam Agyemang has reiterated her commitment to use her platform to champion causes that matter the most.
Giving her remarks after receiving the prestigious honour for the only category reserved for women, the Media General GCEO said “the recognition inspires me to continue pushing boundaries, empowering others and working tirelessly to make a positive impact on our world. With great honour comes great responsibility and I pledge to use this platform to further the causes that matter most.”
She professed her gratitude to the conferrers and shared what it takes to climb up the ladder of leadership to champion a course as worthy as hers to society.
